A Message from the Chairman Regarding Pitch Maintenance

Dear Club Members,

I hope this message finds you well. As we come to the end of the 23/24 season, I wanted to take a moment to address a matter that has unfortunately caused frustration for all of us.

The unpredictable nature of the great British weather has impacted our ability to train and play fixtures on our beloved pitches. We understand the challenges this presents for all teams involved, and while we cannot control the weather, we are committed to minimising its impact as much as possible.

To address this issue, we will be undertaking a series of maintenance works on the pitches over the next month. These works include:

Herbicide application
Fertiliser application
Aeration/decompaction
Top dressing
Overseeding

As a result of these essential maintenance activities, some of the pitches will be temporarily out of bounds while the work takes place and for the remainder of the off-season. However, I'm pleased to inform you that the pitches will be fully accessible for training sessions this Saturday and Monday. Furthermore, the girls' 'I Am' Club on 11th May, the U12/U7 tour scheduled for the 19th May, and the girls' camp with Emily Scott on 29th-30th July will all proceed as planned and will not be affected.

We will provide updates as the work is undertaken to ensure that you are fully aware of any developments, and can confirm that the pitches have already been sprayed. We will proceed with the aeration works, followed by the application of fertiliser, overseeding, and top dressing.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time. Your support is invaluable as we work to maintain the quality of our facilities for the benefit of all members.

Best regards,
Steve Maguire
Club Chairman
